Adding navigation?
My 2008 c6/a6 quattro does not have navigation loaded. I do not see a unit in the trunk but did find a used unit on eBay. The listing states that it would be the proper fitment. Is this an addition I can do without too much trouble?

Save your money. The 2008 navigation system is now nearly 15 year old technology having been introduced on cars that started being manufactured in 2004. I had it in my old 2005 A6 4.2. Compared to current technology it is not very good. You would be better off downloading Waze to your phone and buying a phone mount for the car. Just my 2 cents.

To answer the original question: I looked into this on my 2005. From my understanding, you just need the DVD unit and the nav disc and plug it into the MOST loop in the trunk. If you have sattelite radio and don't use that, you can reuse the MOST connector for that unit. I agree with Kevin Gary though, the technology in 2008 is cumbersome at best. I have had A6s with and without the nav. I now have a 2008 with Nav, but have WAZE up all the time. There are times I still use the built in nav, but primarily rely on waze since I get so much more info. I use a Garmin mount that sits on the dash. It has a grippy weighted base and doesn't move at all. One big problem is the lack of map updates for the older systems. I live in a fast growing area with new roads constantly being added. My maps are from 2014. they do ok, but are missing a lot of changes around me. I saw some reasonable proced DVD nav unit son eBay for < $100. I was tempted, but ultimately lost the 2005 to a deer and now have built in nav so never had to do the project.
