Advanced Key not so smart--or my son isn't

Did you buy from an exclusive Audi dealer? If not, recommend you ask for an Audi Brand Specialist...
You'll see the reference to "ABS" here on the forum from time to time and the reference is not to anti-lock brakes.
If your dealer sells Audis exclusively, there is no excuse for the salesperson to not know the car!

Yes, it was the same Audi dealer
from whom they leased their previous allroad.
To show you how ill-informed they are, they went to this dealer a couple of weeks ago driving a Lexus loaner. They told the salesmanager how impressed they were with the remote keyless entry of the Lexus, not having to use a key but just keeping it in pocket or purse. The Audi salesmanager never told them that an A6 can be had with the same feature. My son found out about it elsewhere. Audi almost lost the sale to Lexus. It would have served them right if they had, although my daughter-in-law would have been really pissed if she later on discovered that it was available on an A6.
I thought that another explanation for not mentioning it may have been because he wanted to get rid of an A6 on his lot that did not have it. However, he was told upfront that they wanted the navigation package and that package includes Advanced Key.

I'm solidly into brand loyalty, but it sounds like your son needs to find a different dealer,
even if it means buying a different make. This dealer (or at least the salesmanager & salesman) needs to be reported to Audi USA. They bring a bad name to the respectable/knowledgeable salespeople/dealers out there.
