AMI help

I installed the AMI to replace the CD changer and everything plugged right in, but the MMI says initializing device and iPod has the Audi logo on the screen. Are there some settings that I need to change using VAGCOM?
Software version is 41.4.0

Is there a CP (component protection) on your new AMI unit?
If so, it will have to be removed by Audi.

There is no component protection. The unit is working now. I just let the car sit for a couple of hours did some research which pointed to the fact that it is plug and play, went back to tackle it and low and behold, it's working!
Maybe I just needed to be patient and let the car power down after the install.
