Any experts on Audi 2.7tdi triptronic here?
Hi guys... Ive been thinking about changing my Vw to an Audi for the past year now.
So far I've decided to go Audi A6 c6 facelift model. Really want a 3.0TDI Quattro but prices is still quite high at the moment. So today after work i drove back home and seen a lovely 2010 A6 2.7 TDI Quattro at a garage nearby.
price wise i would say its around 3k cheaper than your average 3.0TDI with similar miles.
When i got home, i done a quick search on the v6 2.7 Tdi engines and found out it was only 180bhp. and one guy commented a remap will ruin the triptronic transmission. So now having second thoughts about it, but i want to hear your guys opinion if this is true or not!
And please correct me if am wrong. the 2004-2008 2.7tdi engines had timing chain rattle problems. So i guess the 2010 model am looking will not affect it?
thanks

My 2009 2.7 TDI is 190 so a 2010 2.7 TDI should be more than 180.
A remap shouldn't harm your Tiptronic trans.
A lot of the problems that buged the prefacelift cars have been sorted on the facelift models.
Propper servicing helps to keep them in good condition.
Don't go for the long service rout.
Change engine oil/filter 10k
Change trans fluid - Multitronic = 38k - Tiptronic = 70k
Audi say Tiptronic is for life, but by the time it goes wrong it's out of warantee.

royclark, I just can't thank you enough. I've called the garage up and they confirmed its a 190bhp. and i have arranged to go down to view it on Saturday, so fingers crossed everything will be okay. but before i go down to view it, is there anything to be aware of. i know the usual stuff like service etc?

Hi guys!!!
Bought the car on saturday and i must say i love the car too bits!!!
but got one slight problem that am unsure of. when am driving say about 70mph, i feel like i can feel the car up shifting and mostly downshifting gears inside the car a little!!! not to sure if its just meant to be like that, but in my mind i always imagine that you couldn't feel gear changes. But i could be wrong cause its my first automatic!
Is this something to worry about? the car has only done 63k miles on the clock with full service history.
