Good stuff GKB, I am going to try to finish my install tomorrow and report back any findings/short cuts.
Did you try to get a "remote on" signal from your HI/LO converter? That is the purpose of the blue wire that comes out of it. Its suppose to send a "remote on" signal to your amp once it gets the Hi signal from the speaker wire.

No I did not try it that way. I just decided to keep it easy & convenient and stuck with the "remote wire" in with accessory fuse. In order to do it that way, we'd need a wire diagram to know which is the oem turn on, female disconnects & another wire tap.
***Another reason why I did not do it that way is because, I am eventually going to be adding 2 more amps, 2 running 1000RMS (2 type X), and 1 running 500rms for type r door speakers and tweeters. If I do it the way you want then id be running 3 crazy powerful amps all from the OEM remote turn on and that will not last long at all. If I keep it the fusebox then for every amp I can just use a different fuse to wire in each amp! or I can use a higher amp fuse and wire all 3 in one fuse.***
