I'm having this issue now, I thought I was getting off easy as my Audi dealer quoted me $200 ish for a part that connects to the intake that was cracked. Today they called and said one of the flaps is broken and they would have to remove the intake to get to it which is a lot of labor. I asked them to double check the lines but I'm not optimistic.

It's important to find an appropriate hi-temp tubing to replace this errant hose or you'll have the failure again.

As evidenced by the fact that dealer stocks the plastic pipe, this part is often broken. On my car the part behind the headlight is nonexistent; my guess is is was omitted after an accident repair. Could you please tell me what that part is or where this vacuum line ultimately goes?
thanks

Thank you so much for this. I searched everywhere could not find where the end of this was the vacuum diagram sucks!

I am wondering where this hose leads to as well, even though I put a vacuum on it and it didn't leak.
I have codes P2070 and P2404 now and have also had P2006 and P2007 but they haven't come back after clearing. I cannot find any vacuum leaks (using vacuum pump) and have checked the runner flaps by applying a vacuum to the actuators; they all work, nothing stuck no binding. I can't figure out what my issue is...

Can't find DTC P2070, but DTC P2404 is the infamous EVAP Leak Detection Pump Sense Circuit Error, which could be due to a defect in the ECM or a vacuum leak. However, since you had both DTCs P2006 and P2007, which are associated with vacuum to the lower intake flaps, I suspect that you have a vacuum leak somewhere.

I was thinking the same thing, so I cleared all the codes and only P2404 and P2070 came back instantly... but I have vacuum tested literally every hose I can see, probably 3-4 times each. Also applied vacuum to flap actuators and the flaps moved smoothly it seemed. I took the upper plenum off, I saw a lot of carbon build up on the runners, flaps, and down near the valves - [yes the flaps were on the correct side of the divider]. I am going to clean all that up, replace gaskets and see if I get any results. I am interested on how to test the IMT valve position sensors. I know they act as potentiometers, but don't have the connector pin out nor do I know the voltage/resistance specs. If anyone has those, it would be much appreciated. Or if anyone knows the vacuum pressure range at which the flap actuators should operate - mine start opening ~7in. Hg and are completely open around ~14in. Hg vacuum.

Does any one has directions with pictures how to do this on the 3.0T engine?

Thank you in advance.
Did you have any luck?
