Fix for Incomplete Metadata for EEPROM on MMI Update

Awhile ago I posted about the problems I was having updating the MMI on my '07 S6. I was getting the error message displayed here and the dealer was stumped and unsure how to help. The Audi tech line was unable to help either. They wanted to charge me $1,500.00 dollars to replace the headunit if I wanted the upgrade.
Anyway, I knew it was just a problem with the update CD files so I went to work on it. Long story short, I now have the ability to fix this problem and get the CD to load and update the MMI. If anyone is having this problem, reply to this post and I'll help you get it fixed.

Any update to this fine thread. Pls Help
I have this exact same issue... but does anyone know how to contact PhantomS6 or what his fix was? I think it has to do with changing a number either on the upgrade disc, or in the head unit... but would love to know what might have worked?
Thanks very much for any help

This is a moot point now. This was happening when you tried to update to 4140 from 2750 and lower versions. It was a requirement that you had to first update to 3360 and then apply the 4140. The error was being generated when attempting to update to 3360.
The latest update 4610 can be applied without first going to 3360 so if you have 2750 or 3310 you can go directly to 4610.
