Default Has anyone located the undocumented video inputs?

"in fact on the car there are 2 entries AV but nobody at Audi could connect them."

"I showed it to the mechanics Audi and they were on the bottom by seeing the APPLE interface! If Audi and APPLE approached a little more (now that they support officially the iPod) they could make us an embarked system of hell controlled by the Audi serrated roller!"

Default Re: Has anyone located the undocumented video inputs?

Hi

When I read the article, I thought that the inputs were connected to the optional TV reception unit for the A6. The optional TV reception unit do have auxillary inputs for other video sources like playstations or DVD drives.

This can be installed afterwards and I know the unit is available from Kufatec in Germany.

Regards

Default Does the TV reception unit contain sound inputs?

Wait, Audi sells a part that lets me plug in a DVD or Playstation? I could care less about the video, but does this mean I can plug in an audio source? Say, an iPod?

Is there any hope of getting one of these installed in a US car?

Default The TV reception unit contain sound inputs (Now you can connect Ipod)

I checked the Kufatec Website and I think the following apply:

On the TV Tuner Unit (part numbers 4E0 919 146 or 4E0 919 146A) the possibility exist to connect both Video and Audio auxiliry inputs.

I see that Kufatec sells the unit with cables inclusive of a cable set that allow for normal RCA Video and stereo audio inputs. The also sells this cable to enable normal AV connection for the TV Tuner at 15 Euro.

I believe that this will make it possible to connect an Ipod to the Audio inputs although one will select the source in the CD/TV screen as Auxiliry Video input. An Ipod connected will work but without anything on the screen.

It will however be possible to build in a notebook computer that can work as MP3 jukebox although control will be through a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

When the second option is selected, it will be necessary to reprogram the MMI computer to continue to show video on the screen when driving faster than 15km/h (10 m/hr). This can be done by a dealer that will be willing to reprogram the computer module.

I hope this will help you. (Sorry about the spelling, English is my third language.)
