Hello everyone
I have an A6 3.0 2006 which I am really fed up with. I have spent almost 2 years trying to fix a transmission issue and I have spent thousands of dollars. I will really appreciate if you help me to fix my car.
Apparently the problem is with ETM of the gearbox. The problematic one is lost and now mechanics say I need to change all the following parts and they must be replaced from the same car only: ETM, engine computer, gearbox computer, gateway computer, key and ignitor, speedometre. The point is they must be from same car only same chasis number. Please help me with your comments and experiences. Thanks

A little bit older thread, but have you resolved this? Not sure you have to have all of those componets from the same car, but you do have to have somebody that can clear the component protection issues. I did a trans swap, and fortunately, there is a shop in town that could do the CP part for me. I had to have the car towed (Flatbed) as it would not move until the CP had been cleared.
