Default Issue with OEM part seller

I bought an ATF filter, gasket and drain plug/seal for my 2005 Audi A6.
I bought it from Genuinevwaudiparts.com
I got all the parts 2 months back. I opened the box and noticed that
there were rust spots at random on the ATF filter.
I contacted the genuinevwaudiparts.com twice, but they are ignoring
my request to exchange the part.
I never had the problem with this supplier before until now.
Did not expect this type of service.

Default rust spots

I've seen this on other cars ATF filters. I dont think its a huge deal -- is it just slight surface rust or severe? pics may help us look to see if its really an issue

Default Regarding rust spots on ATF filter

Probably, you are right. I am just disappointed that genuinevwaudiparts.com
will not even respond. This is the first time I had issues with them.
I will just see if there is way to scuff off the rusty spots.
I am in the process to get the ATF fluid for my car and then use the Ross Tech cable/software to top it off.
When I changed out the ATF in my 2004 VW Passat at 42K miles, the fluid drained was black. The new fluid was like light brown.
I think it is a good idea to replace the ATF every 60K miles, unless you are not going to keep the car.

Can you post links to the parts and the fluid you bought? I have looked around and the only ATF filter I could find was for the C5 model. And nobody knows what ATF to use.

Give my local dealer a try:

http://audiporschevwparts.com/ - they are like 1-2% more expensive than genuineaudiparts.com, but you might find their service better.

Default Source for ATF fluid kit and parts

here it is:
www.blauparts.com
This is where I bought the ATF kit from them
for my 2004 VW Passat.
They do not have for my 2005 Audi A6.
So, I ordered the ATF filter/gasket from genuinevwaudiparts.com
and the fluid part is G055 005 A2 from teh dealer for like $18-19
per quart.
Hope this helps
