Key Stuck in Ignition

I had the same problem. The Tiptronic shifting assembly is out of alignment and the ignition interlock is not releasing when put in Park. Simple mechanical adjustment is needed.
If you have some mechanical skills you can do it yourself. To get to the assy you need to take off the center console.

Exact time just happened to me today how can i fix it what do i do?? PLease help me is there a picture or video or can u walk me thru it please

Have a 2007 A6 3.2 w/ 200K miles and experienced this problem recently. It was also accompanied by the automatic transmission not shifting out of 1st gear (had to manually shift). It turned out to be a faulty break pedal light switch, but it was difficult to diagnose and I did not see this posted anywhere. I did eventually find a similar post on Audiforums (link below) and wanted to update Audiworld. Hope this helps someone!
