Looking at a 2004 A6
Hey, I'm not to familiar with Audi's, not at all really, so I was hoping I could get some info.
I'm looking at a 2004 Audi A6 biturbo with S-Line package.
The C5 and C6 were both made in 2004, how can i tell which it is?
Is the biturbo series a reliable engine?
Any known problems to look out for?
Car has 63k on the clock.

If its a biturbo it's a C5
And in 2005, the C6 was not made with the S-line package... but there was a "sport" package available which for 2005 I believe included diff wheels, stiffer/different springs & possibly dampers, and some cool sportier leather front seats. No other differences. I think they started re-offering the S-line package on C6's in 2006. And then in later years, the S line package was just an interior thing and cosmetic thing (front bumper difference, etc) and didnt include the sport suspension package and wheels. Makes not much sense but that was my understanding after looking at literally 20+ C6 A6's before we bought ours.

We have 2 c5 and c6.The c6 is the current model style.
We have a 2004 c5 3.0 quattro,The turbo is a 2.7 liter. Both of these cars are awesome. My daughter drives the c5 3.0.Make sure the seals for the differential in rear are ok if not you need them replaced and oil drained.Good luck.
s-line is the sports package.18 inch rims along with firm suspension.I believe paddle shifters Im not sure.

In the C5 model the S-Line package did get you an addition 15 horse power.
I was torn between getting an '04 S-line or a standard '05. I love the S-Line but evently went with the '05. Horsepower numbers are almost identical (one has an additional five but I can not remember which) but there is not turbo one the C6 to go bad. When I asked most people seemed to have gotten at least 100,000 miles from their turbos.
In addition to the horse power upgrade, that is 15 over the standard 2.7T models, there are some nice cosmetic upgrades including that nice spoiler on the boot.
