MMI

champz, you have MMI 2G, version 1070. That is a pretty old version. You can bring it to the current version (in US that would be 4610, not sure in other areas of the world). I believe you may need to do a couple of upgrades, done in order, to get it to the most current version. The interim version IIRC is 3130. I am in US on 4610 and have done this same upgrade from 1070 to 4610, and my MMi is very stable now. As mentioned, lots of posts about this, spend a little time searching the forums and you will find it.

In all seriousness @champz you really have no idea on what 2G or 3G actually means, in the context of the Audi MMI. They designation "G" refers to generation and you can't simply go from 2G to 3G. You would need to remove ALL your MMI and associated components, then get a 3G unit and components, then map them to your vehicle (i.e. component protection) and hope everything works as per design. Based upon your asks so far, I think this woudl be far beyond your ability to do and you have a decade + old vehicle. If I were you, I'd update the MMI to the latest 4610, then be happy with it. If you really want something more, either buy a newer vehicle or get someone to install and aftermarket unit which can be integrated into your bus system.

+1 to what raj99 says. You really have no practical option other than upgrade to the latest version of 2G. That is all your car can support - just like mine. It's a little dated these days, but it works and you might as well have the latest and most stable version.
As for AMI, that will give you the Audi Music Interface which basically enables you to connect Bluetooth devices to your car. I say "enables" because AMI is really just the interface, you would still need to buy and connect the Bluetooth device itself. I've done this on both my cars and it's more expensive than it should be, but it works. You can find AMI modules for $200-$300 or more...depending on your vehicle, you can add it in addition to your CD changer, or in some cases you may have to replace the CD changer with the AMI module. Again, lots of posts on this topic, here and in the A8 D3 forum, do your research so you know what you are in for in terms of time and money.
I would recommend you start with the MMI update, and then go from there.
