N00b here with a new-to-me A6 Avant 3.0T
Hi everyone, I am very excited because I just picked up a '11 A6 Avant 3.0T Prestige in Amaretto on Quartz with under 75kmi from her second owner. It is in absolutely immaculate condition and everything is bone stock (except for smaller OEM wheels).
I also (still) possess an '08 A6 Avant 3.2 that I had hauled from NJ to CA 3 years ago, but although very reliable, it is not nearly as exciting.
Question: from reading the forums, I understand that MMI has production version of firmware (so its 6 years old), and that it will take a very long time to update. Is that correct? I am still confused which hardware I have (no SIM card, two SD slots, high resolution fancy screen, joystick), so I appreciate any help! Or just send any info my way!
On the '08 it was relatively easy to perform update myself.

Those are the base versions that come from the factory for a 2011 car.
The latest version for your MMI is HNav_US_K0133_3_D1 I believe, and there is a 2016 Maps available. I sent your a PM.
Both can be updated via an SD card, the MMI takes 10-15 minutes and the Maps take 1-2 hours. MMI is easy to find, the Maps are much more complicated and required special activation.
