Default New to Audi - buying an A6

Hey guys. I'm looking at purchasing a 2007 A6 S-line 4.2 quattro. It has 66k miles and they are asking just under 25. Good deal or is the asking price way too much? Also, is 66k way too much? The carfax has only the inspection dates on it. Is that a bad thing? It shows no maintenance performed or any other issues which is kind of making me think twice about it but maybe it means there have been no issues with the car. I've been looking at the A6 for a while now and would love to have one.
Thanks in advance.

66k might be little too much...IMO

you really need 4.2? There are lots of good CPO A6 3.2 with around +40k miles for around 25k. To me, best used car is the leased ones, because person who leased the A6 will perform their services at the dealer.

IMO, the paper trail on a used Audi is critical, try and locate an Audi that has a full and complete AUDI service history and done at all the correct times. You'll find one eventually just don't get in a hurry..even junker Audi's look good.

I originally found a 2005 3.2 with about 55k miles for just over 20. Carfax looked great for that one but as they were going to ship it to the other dealership they own, the guy put the parking brake on and could not get it off. Took it into the shop to get it fixed and they said it was a control module problem and were waiting to get the part in to have it fixed. That was 2 weeks ago and the part has still yet to come in. Should I wait for this one or look elsewhere? I'm really trying to keep it to around $20k. I was just wondering if it was worth it to pay $4k more for the 4.2 S-line.

There are just too many audis out there that you can buy. Shop around more unless you really need the car right now. You can probably take $1k-2k off from what they are offering. Have you test drove both 3.2 and 4.2? 4.2 is nice but if you are just cruising around the town and highway, it's not needed. Also you will save some gas also by going 3.2 route.

Carfaxes are only a small part of buying an Audi or a car of this type and only tells part of the story..you want genuine Audi service records! all Audi dealers have this Data *if the car was serviced by Audi. Ask for the service records.

Nobody has ever posted that they made a mistake by buying a 4.2. Several 3.2 posters have wished that they had purchased the 4.2. Go for the 4.2 it is a great driving car.
