ow30 or 0w40 engine oil?
The manual on my 2005 A6 3.2 recommends 0w30 as it says it is what is used at factory, but on Mobile 1 it recommends 0w40? what should I use!

Mobile 1 0W40
− Mercedes MB 229.5
− Porsche Approval List 2002
− GM-LL-A-025 (gasoline)
− ACEA A3, B3/B4
− BMW Longlife 01
− VW 502.00/505.00/503.01
− GM-LL-B-025 (diesel)
− API SM/CF
Mobile 1 0W30 as recommended in the Manual
* GM 6094M, GM 4718M (Corvette spec)
* Ford WSS-M2C929-A
* Chrysler MS-6395
* ILSAC GF-4 energy conserving
* API SM/CF
* ACEA A1/B1
What confuses me is that on Mobile 1 website the recommended product is 0w40 as it says its for European Cars and has European brands, but the manual recommends ow30 which on mobile1 says GM, Ford, American Cars and the dealer says 5w30 which has Japanese Cars.
I went with 0w30 hope it doesn't damage the car, but I was told Mobile 1 makes the synthetic motor oil.
