Default Possible Power Steering pump failure? 2005 A6 4.2

This is a noise coming from the front left of the car right in front of where I believe the power steering pump is at. As the car is warmed up the noise is gone and the car sounds normal. I notice no driving difference neither.

Car is a 2005 Audi A6 C6 4.2

I've experienced this on other VAG cars we've owned. My remedy: flush fluid using the correct CHF 11S fluid

Noises gone.

Hmm interesting. Im pretty sure it has the correct fluid in it. However I did top off with a Prestone European Power Steering Fluid. I will probably change it just in case. So ESC tuning says CHF 202 and not CHF 11s. I assume they are correct?

202 is the new fluid. It is backward compatible to 11s. 11s is more expensive. I just used 202 to flush the Power Steering last week. It works fine. BTW, Pepboys sold $14 per liter with online coupon last week. Just order online and pick up at their local store.

Thats kinda what I thought. I will probably flush it with 202 just to see if that doesnt take care of it. Any pointers? And is one liter enough or should i get two?

2 to 3 liters depend on which methods you use. Royclark and Raj99 had posted their methods. I used Royclark's method since it did not need to disconnect any hose - less mess in a way. I used 3 liters.
