There is a little known secret
that the markup between wholesale auctions and the prices used car dealers charge is hugh. Plus every once in a while if you are at the right price at the right time you can get a great deal. The trick is having an honest dealer who will bid on your behalf and you have the brass ones to buy sight unseen. I have to buy tires, replace the window, and paint the back bumper before it is perfect but it is still a great deal. As Audi's roll off lease and run out of warrentee the prices drop through the floor. Don't trust the price surveys given by Edmunds and the like-they are only a survey of prices being asked, not what people actually pay.
