Reasonable source for zf6hp19 torque converter for a 2006 3.2
My trans is starting to behave inconsistently & I am suspecting the torque converter.
When cold, the trans will completely disengage at the1st stop &, then, slam back in gear with accelerator depression, almost like it's low on fluid. Then, as it comes up to temp, it'll "creek", almost like the "quattro steer" noise that some get on tight, low speed turns, when coming to a stop.
So, I'm starting to research reasonable prices for a replacement TC.
I have found a remanufactering source in CA for about $350.
In doing a TC change, I'd have all the engines rear seal leaks taken care of also.
I know that several C6 owners here have gone through TC changes. So, I'd like to benefit from that experience....
My A6 is a 2006 quattro 3.2, w/192k miles.

If you are pulling the trans, consider doing all the chains and tensioners on the back of the engine.
Before you commit to the torque converter, check the trans for codes and verify correct fluid level.

Lifeguard 6+ is alot cheaper & easier than getting another trans.
I,at least, do a drain & refill. The filter get changed every few years.
Just like for engines, oil maintenance is the biggest factor for longevity.

The tranny manufacturer, ZF, recommends a 70,000 mile interval, which is what I do, and Audi says it’s lifetime. Every 12 months seems a little excessive. But it’s your car. Good luck with the change.

The car had 151K miles on it when I got it &, apparently the trans fluid had only been changed when the software & fluid were changed over to 6+ (IDK when).
The fluid was quite dirty when I 1st changed it. So, I've been doing it frequently to clean it up & keep it that way.

An update on my transmission: I ck'd it today & found it 3liters low on fluid & the fill level plug seemed too easy to loosen.
So, I'm suspecting that I've had a leak there.
It's full now & the level plug is well tightened.
Time will tell...
