Default Should I keep my A6 after the warranty ends?

I'm exactly 1 year or 9k away from having my warranty expire on my 2005 3.2 Quattro A6. Today on my way to work, I got the "adaptive lighting defective" warning light for the second time. (first time was at 10k). So now I'm thinking if I should sell this car since fixing (or even checking) those types of things can get expensive once the warranty is complete. The car has been ok since I've owned it. Aside from annoying rattles and squeaks, I've had maybe 2 or 3 electronic issues since I've owned the car (engine has been fine). I guess I'm hoping to hear from any owners that have surpassed the 50k milestone to see how their car has held up. Anyone well past that?

Thanks in advance!

Default 52k here..so far so good.

Everything I've had done has been under warranty.

Word from my SA is that the high-mileage C6s they've seen have been pretty solid...fwiw.

Default I had that adaptive light defect warning many times...

They ended up replacing the lighting assembly twice before it went away forever. I would definitely get it worked on ASAP as it will likely need to go off several more times before they will approve the complete replacement...

I agree with you, great car, but lots of electronic glitches that can be costly and annoying. Not sure what I'm going to do either...

Audi Platinum is the solution - plenty of recent threads here, on C5 and D3 forums.

Default I am with Pierre, self insuring

The only scary parts are electronic. My MMI hates cold weather it seems and it flakes out when I first start up the car. And the long term replacement costs of those items (for me being electronically inclined) are very low compared to the 3k needed for an exclusionary warranty policy.

Thanks! I no idea they offered this. I'll talk to them about it when I take the care in on Monday.

Default Be sure to search the forums. There's an Audi dealer who will do it for cheap in electronic transac.

Default Generally, over here where we had the C6 a year or so before the US the C6....

seems in high demand on the second hand market so it must have a good reputation in the trade.

1 Year old cars are nearly as expensive and new if they have the right options.

Default Just as a follow-up...

I am in the process of pricing Audi Platinum EW prices and contacted these guys. They are very courteous and fast in response time. The price quote was good (not great, but I didn't feel I was getting taken advantage of...). Honestly, if it was too good, I'd be more nervous.
