Still no Sirius, but have the MMI update
I am going on 4 weeks since I had the MMI updated. Dealer took a while to install the update. It took a couple tries. In the process the dealer blew out the Sirius radio. I travel a good bit and have really missed it.
Audi cannot find a replacement Sirius radio, anywhere in the world. I guess they are no longer installing Sirius in their new cars.
Audi customer service rep told me today, "you know sir, it has to come from Germany because you have a German car". Oh, now I understand.

Re: Still no Sirius, but have the MMI update
The AudiIUSA site lets you configure a new A6 with Sirius but not XM. It was announced 6-8 months ago that they were dropping XM, so I'm not surprised. The shortage of replacement Sirius radios is probably because of the higher demand at the factory and possibly due to customers who might also be ditching XM. I was able to pick up a new Sirius radio from my dealer back in December just by asking at the service counter. Granted, that was a few months ago. If you're still having problems locating a unit, maybe check with Kufatec. Since it's the dealer that blew it up, they should be willing to pay retail for a new one. And yeah, updating the firmware can be a real nail-biting experience. I just got done going from 1190 to 3460, and it took 13 hours. Luckily my Sirius unit didn't need to be updated.
