Test drove the C6 4.2 as well today...
And the overall feeling is... eh.
Granted it was the demo beige color (DO NOT under any circumstances get it in this color), but overall the car was OK. The inside was spartan Audi, but also felt a little cheap. My wife has a CLK 320 and it felt more luxurious than the C6. Probably should've done with a little less of the plastics. Will probably hold my full opinion until I see the car with some 20".
On the road, the car was fast for a sedan, but the ride felt much more harsher than I expected and it didn't even have the sport package. Are Audi sedans usually this harsh? Must less smooth than the MBs.
Was thinking of the C6, now might go for something else...

MB drivers always find Audis too harsh....
... MB's are widely known for their soft rides. It's what their customer base equates to a 'luxury' feel. BMW and Audi lean toward the more sporty side of things suspension-wise.
It's certainly not a deficiency that Audi's suspension is a little firmer than MB, but is very much deliberate, and very welcome to people who like true sporting dynamics in their luxury cars.
I personally dislike MB's mushy, rather sloppy ride and would take Audi's crisp-yet-refined ride instead. It really comes down to personal preference.

In what way did the new A6's interior feel cheap? Not enough wood? Not enough leather? Too much plastic? I can almost guarentee that sure the new A6's interior is not flimsy like a Cadillac CTS, Lincoln LS or Chrysler 300M. I know for a fact that the new A6's interior is definitely not anywhere near as bad as the new 5 Series' interior. So if you are deciding against the new A6 because of the interior, I recommend against the horrible new 5er whose interior will really offend you to no end.

Did the same last night in the rain.... Silver on Black
Loved that car. It is beautiful from all angles in my opinion. I personally liked the interior and the new steering wheel in person to my surprise. The sport seats that were in the test car are a must. My friend thought that the ride was a little harsh (Like riding on 19s) but when we took a quick hair-pin turn at speed and the car had no body roll, he was amazed. The car is definitely on the sporting side, which I like.

IMO the C6 now holds a more pronounced bias towards the....
sportier side of the equation--in terms of ride and driving characteristics compared to my experience with my previous '01 A6 2.7T. But that car was non-sport, and a bit mushy. Considering some of the initial auto press comments regarding the suspension, I was actually surprised how compliant (yet firm) the C6's sport suspension felt on 18-inchers...Not harsh at all, IMO. As for the interior, the surface surrounding the instrument and MMI layout was a little disappointing to me, but it certainly did not feel cheap...Just looked a little less than what I've been used to from Audi in that department--Cetainly not a reason to dismiss the C6, again IMO.
