Default V1 placement

I'm looking for the best location to mount my V1 (in an S6). Since I want to hard wire it using the remote module, that needs to be taken into consideration. Any advice? Pictures?

Thanks

Default Mine is just left of rear view mirror

I am using the suction cup mount to windshield with hardwire set up; Audi dealer was able to do this for me.

Default Left of the mirror..

I had mine professionally mounted left of the rearview mirror. Just below the tint. If you look for it, you can see it from outside. The higher the better, and of course, visibility front and back is best. If you put your detector on the dash, might as well not have one. One of the car mags had detection cut in half with dashboard placement. Good Luck...

Default Mine is just below the rear view mirror, on the left side. From the outside it blends in w/mirror.

You can also hard wire it into the "cold" side of the fuse box and run the wire under the moldings up and around the the windshield.

Default Remote

Ed, did the dealer also wire in the remote? I was thinking of locating the rempte just above the trip reset button.

Default I have mine on the right of the rearview mirror with the stealth display stuck on top of the steerin

steering wheel where it doesn't turn. problem is the sticky tape doesn't stick too well. It holds it in place but can be lifted off easily. I'm not sure why most on here put the V1 to the left of the mirror but I usually don't have a passenger in the car so I put it on the right so I can still use my sunvisor and still have protection from the back.

Don't use the remote - the unit itself is well within my peripheral vision.

Default Re: V1 placement

I have a 2006 A6 4.2, so I don't know if there are major differences in the interior layout. Mine V1 is mounted just right of the rear view mirror as it was an easier run to find power on the right side of the dashboard. The remote module I placed in the center console just above the ashtray which allows me to mute it very quickly and still have just enough clearance to open/close the ashtray. I tried a few dash locations and nothing was great. It works fine, just took a little getting used to, like any new display.

At night if you don't want the light (arrows) in your eyes or someone following you to see it then the remote is the way to go.
