AC Compressor Replacement
I am replacing my AC compressor that had an issue and I purchased the dowel sleeves (03L-260-817) to insert in the bolt mount holes between the compressor and the mounting bracket but the sleeves do not fit. Do I need a special tool to press them in or should it slide in easily? Has anyone here skipped using them? Will I really have an issue lining up the compressor without the sleeves? I junked my old compressor and do not recall if there were sleeves in it.

I just removed my compressor while the engine was out and I don’t remember any sleeves. I can check my Erwin manual in the morning and I can check on the compressor next time in the garage.
