Yeah, i can do that, right now car is getting 5k Service. I plugged it into a Q5 and it said cable not supported, but again, it was with my phone running the ios 5 beta, should get the car back this afternoon, will test a regular ipod classic and see if it does the same thing

If it doesn't work it will likely "only" be a software issue. I doubt that they change much hardware from the EU version to the US one. I read that the difference in the cable from blue to red is that the red one has an Apple license chip.
Maybe our friend from DK can tell us what software version he has? Info should be somewhere in the MMI menu.
Maybe the new cable can be "activated" via Vagcom or the hidden MMI menu?

I tried the cable with a 2012 A7 - which gave me a cable not supported message, i tried changing some things in the hidden menu, nothing.
Vag-com labels are not that far ahead as of yet. I still want to try a regular ipod to see if does the same thing, but it did say cable not supported, so i really don't know.
And remember, it was with a phone running an ios 5 beta software. But i am gravitating more towards a software update, unfortunately, i had the car serviced and the only update out is one for the engine Control module.

Also is there a way to get tech support from audi apart from the dealer.
I for example have a question on uploading pictures to phone tags. TelePhone module has a blank box for pictures next to the caller I formation. Seems like you can have a pic along with the cOntact and I would like for this to pop uP too.
Techs at dealers I don't think would know about this.
