Baptism by gravel on highway :-(
Car less than 1 month old, driving 80mph on Route 287S in NJ and gravel truck in next lane has a problem and lets loose gravel all over the road with no where for me to go.
Took several rock hits on hood and windshield - the XPel Ultimate and ClearPlex saved both from damage!!! This stuff really works...
Only damage was very small dent in hood and chip to REAR WING which was deployed.
Off to the dealer for some touch up paint...
Dave
BTW - got the protection done at the Tint Shop in Edison NJ, great work at very competitive prices. WORTH EVERY $$$

Wow, good thing you had the tint installed... I assume there was not enough gravel to damage the tires/wheels/undercarriage?
That road is horrible with all the heavy dump-truck/open-container traffic. You have to either pass them or pull-back or else your car gets sand-blasted.

Glad to hear your protection was adequate, although that is quite extreme to come out with only minor items.
Haven't gone without protection in over 30 years, will now add the windshield film instead of replacing it every 2-3 years.

The windsheild film (ClearPlex) is not the same material as X-Pel Ultimate and has to be replaced every 2-3 years. It takes quite a lot of abuse and does not "self heal". However, I'd much rather pay to replace this than have to do a windshield since it's cheaper and replacment windshields and the fit of the trim pieces are never as good as Original...just my opinion...
