Default Error Log

10 months of ownership/12K miles:

Both of my Night Vision functions, “Highlight Pedestrian” and “Warning Tone”, stopped working last week… I checked in the MMI and made sure they were still on – Needless to say they are and the functions still wouldn’t work.
__________________________________________________ _

Next, my check engine light would intermittently come on at random points throughout the day; this has been going on for the last two weeks. I dropped it off @ the dealer this morning and I won’t get it back until Thursday (kinda Lame/ridiculous/upsetting/etc). My service manager called and said there are multiple error codes showing and they’re taking time to clear and correct it them.

I can’t begin to express my disappointment w/ these issues… If there is any silver lining, I got a Q5 loaner which is pretty nice, but not my A7.

Have you (or anyone else experiencing reliability issues) joined true delta and entered your repair issues? It would be good to have the failures in the database, as currently the A7 appears to be one of the most reliable cars out there.

Day 2... Still don't have my car. *sigh* Not impressed w/ Va Beach Audi - or Audi as a whole for that fact. Three calls to the dealer ended up w/ me leaving three messages throughout the day… I finally had to request a service manager who prompts my rep to call me back… Long story short – They’re still working the codes and they’ve opened up a case w/ AOA who hasn’t responded to the issue.**Worst owner experience(s) I've ever had w/ a car... New or used.

DAY 3: Got my car back – Technician said the codes have been cleared and “everything” is checking good… but my check engine light came back on during my drive home. Called the rep and she said bring it back in and we’ll open another case w/ Audi???? I’m just going to chalk this one up as a loss – The next closet Audi dealership is 98mi away, so I may just make a day trip to Richmond to see if they can figure it out… Or, drive w/ the light on/off – It’s only a lease (It’ll be their problem in 2yrs).

Your engine light wasn't on before the dealer visit right?

It's just one of those situations that even AOA doesn't know what is going on. Similar to the headlight malfunction warning for the LED headlights, that I've been getting. Every trip to the dealer just leaves them with clearing the codes and waiting on a solution from Audi.

Might want to hold off on such a long drive just to go to another dealership that may or may not be able to fix the problem.

Did they give you a list of what the engine codes were that caused the check engine light?

"the codes have been cleared and “everything” is checking good… " just means they couldn't figure what was wrong so we just reset the computer and hope the problem doesnt happen again. If you go back with the exact same codes they will be forced to acknowledge there is a problem.

Check engine light was intermittent - That was one of the original reasons I took it in....

I've been getting intermittent "Passenger Airbag Off" while my wife is sitting in the passenger seat. If she unbuckles her seat belt and rebuckles it, it goes away but it happens again a few minutes later. Unnerving to think the airbag may not deploy in a crash. Gotta bring it in, not just a nuisance it could be life threatening under the wrong circumstance.

That does sound dangerous - Did you see the site "ACHiPo289" posted earlier in the thread? It's a good venue for compiling issues A7 owners are having.
