While this is a wrong forum, yes you have to subscribe to Audiconnect. You need to get the ATT SIM card from your Audi dealership and register it online at:
https://www.myaudiconnect.com
I believe that the first 2 years are free then you pay 10 dollars per month to get google maps, google search, live traffic, WIFI hotspot among many other things. Your 2018 Q5 will have more features then we do on our A7.

Oops excuse me and thank you for your reply. I meant Google earth not map. But I looked in the Audi Connect, it says the sim card is inbedded in the vehicle. I guess I wouldn't be able to do anything? Audi only gave 6 mos. free subscription except I didn't even realize I have all the goodies.. Dah.
