How many keys does the dealership provide?
I recently bought a used 2012 A7 and noticed the MMI interface says that there are three keys programmed for my car yet the seller only gave me 2. Is this something I ned to be worried about? Do the new A7s come from the dealership with 3 keys? Do others see the same message from the MMI saying 3 keys have been programmed for your car?
Thanks
Thanks

Audi is a quirky company... for years they have been giving the 3rd key to complete strangers globally and if they manage to identify a car its theirs to keep (you should read your fine print).
Pay attention the next time you are out... I saw one of them roaming the streets of LA blindly clicking the panic button trying to find his lucky number.

That third key is called the "Valet" key. Since it only opens the doors, if you manually lock your trunk and glove box with the standard key, a parking attendant for example, can't access either but can still lock/unlock the door and drive the car. In my A4, there's a slot holder in the glovebox to store the valet key. Not sure if there's one in the A6/A7. The OP should check there for that key.

Thanks for all the answers. I am just concerned that I bought the car from an individual and the MMI interface says there are 3 keys programmed for my car. If there are really 3 keys that individual could just drop by and take the car. Does your MMI also say there are 3 keys programmed for your cars even though most of you only have 2 programmable keys (not including the valet key).
