Not sure of build date on my car, but it was purchased Mid December 2012.

From what I understand, its just the Navi. I don't think the MMI update is a buy and DIY thing,you can prolly pay to have the dealer do it but I could be wrong.

very confusing with the versions. I have the 2012 A7, also purchased in December '12..but my software version seems to be a totally different number. I had the car in for 15k service 2 weeks ago, and they confirmed that there are no software updates for me?

I was just in for the 25K service on my 2012 and they told me there was no update for mine, either. (currently at 0566).

Audi states that the MMI hardware was changed between 2012 and 2013. They didn't state what was changed but that the changed necessitated the 609 firmware and that there is nothing more current than 566 for previous hardware cars.

The real question is did Audi just change vendors or build structure and thus the 609 doesn't really given anything just an update to support different hardware.

OR...
Does the new hardware provide some added benefit currently, or in the future. I am supposed to be getting some clarification but we'll see.
