Default Metal paddles shifters

Should I install metal paddle shifters to replace plastic? How much do they cost? How hard are they to install.

There a couple of options. Replacing would be the most expensive; I believe there are some carbon fiber replacements that would cost several hundred dollars. You can also get solid aluminum extenders that adhere to the existing paddles which is what I have on my A6. They are made by Ron who makes them as a small business/hobby and are available in black or silver. They are very functional, durable and work great. About $150 and easily installed in 5 minutes.

Not sure but these look flimsier than the ones from ron@primetime. His are made from solid aluminum billets.

Probably... but less than a third of the cost. Worth a try at $45! Just throwing another option in to the mix.

The key with add-on extenders is flex. I'm thinking if the metal piece isn't solid and has any flex, it could cause damage to the existing plastic paddles. I'm very happy with my more robust extenders and after 18 months of constant use, no issues. I'm of the "you get what you pay for" school.

I'm totally with you on that. But in this case (if sturdy enough) $45 might be all the "pay" you need.

Well, if ordered from eBay and they're not acceptable, you wasted $45. I'd go with the known, quality product. Someone would have to provide a good review before I'd buy them. To each their own.

Default Remove the stock paddles.

Does anyone know how to remove the stock paddles from a 2018 S7. The pin in the unit does not go all the way through.
