Moving from M3 to A7
do Audi interiors still peel/flake from sun exposure?
What are your general feelings of the car? Should I consider another Audi model? - I like powerful engines and a sporty handling overall. Not considering new cars anymore bc depreciation is a b!..ch!
Anyone here done the transition from BMW to Audi? What are your thoughts? Likes and dislikes?
Is the A7 the appropriate family car? I'm not really concerned for space since my wife drives a range rover.
Thanks!

I moved from a 2008 BMW535XiT with Dinan tuning (wanted space and power). Got rid of the BMW when something started failing every month...and sold it to a guy who just had his first kid.
NO REGRETS moving to the A7, thought I might want to tune it, but it's plenty fast now. Comfort, looks, ergonomics all better than BMW.
What's your definition of "Appropriate family car" LOL - for some it's a Subaru or Honda. You might want to get black leather treated for baby food spills, all weather floor mats and hang a couple LCD screen on the headrests. Bring a car seat into the dealer and install it both ways in the back to make sure 1) it fits and 2) they can't kick your seat while you are driving - THAT's why you want a long wheelbase car!
Have not heard about Audis "peeling from sun exposure"??? Maybe the same ones that suffered from "sudden acceleration" 20 years ago?
Audi has really upped their game in the last few years - and the A7/S7/RS7 have consistently beat out BMW and Mercedes in every road test I've seen.
Must be doing something right...
My previous car was E92 335xi coupe. I think it drove better than the A7, and I miss some things like programmable buttons but overall I'm very happy with my A7.
It's a great car, can't go wrong especially if you are looking for a more family oriented car. If you are looking for power and driveability, it's still a good car but not the only option

The 7 has the looks of a coupe but with great functionality. However since you already have a car with room and are use to power you will need to choose.
Before my 2010 X5 3.5D I had a 07 X5 4.8 and it had some plastic peel so go figure.
A used S7 or S6 could be tough to come by but have more power. If I was not so hung up on the looks of the 7 I would consider a 6 but the 7 is a knockout.

My wife's 2001 allroad has never had the switches peel. Nor did my 2001 A6 with 98K miles or my 50K mile 2009 A4 and so far neither in my 2014 A6. I'm sure it happens to some but not in my experience.
The only thing to consider if you are planning to further expand the family is the rear seating - the 2012+ A6 seats three. I believe it became an option in the 2013 A7 and standard in the 2014 (the two cars otherwise share virtually the same chassis and features except for the trunk vs. hatch and, of course, the body style and price). Both are terrific automobiles.
