Don't drill that front bumper for the plate mount, see what these guys have first for Audi:

Post pics of your A7 when it comes in please!
Great decision, and sound like a 23 year old 'mature' thinker! Good luck!

You know where the radar domes go at the front, the chicken wire mesh behind it. I've asked my dealer to paint that the same colour as the rest of my new a6 (we're all one big happy audi family here aren't we?!). in our opinion, it just looked a bit cheap with the plastic grill. That's not to say that it still won't afterwards !

We had a similar dilemma to yours wrt a6 vs a7.

We had an a7 loaner for a week last year when my a8 was in the garage. It was a 3 litre diesel quattro in silver. We really didn't get along very well. Maybe because it was a demonstrator and not a customer car - so some things weren't as pristine as you'd expect. Then we decided on the a6 primarily because of the running costs of our q7 and that our kids are a little bigger (2 and 5). the 3 litre diesel front wheel drive was a risk, but with 50mpg (uk) average, it halves my wife's fuel bill each month. We then had another a7 loaner, this time with 20 inch titanium 6 double spoke with blacked out glass and front wheel drive. It was much better than the one we had before, so much so, that we wanted to change our order to an a7. But as we'd gone down the Exclusive ordering route for paint and our car had a confirmed build week, we could not do anything apart from losing our deposit and starting again. After 4 months already.

Ah well. Since then, we've fallen for the 6 again, the front lights being a big draw for us as my wife and I both think they are better than our 8's.

Good luck to all, we've certainly joined the right club with Audi

Hands down, the A7 is the more superior machine (looks wise, and a few added features).

I had an A6 from 2004, another 2008 that I just traded. Beautiful shape, brilliant black with Milano S line interior. Much better looking car than the new A6 models. They look like mashed potatoes without the butter, salt or milk. Just "Blahhhh"! I said to the dealer, I waited all this time, and read all of this hype, for this? No way!!! They tried to tell me how superior it was to other "like kind cars", and I said forget the functionality if it looks so "non eye catching" to my set of eyes only, forget others.

I immediately turned away the A6 option, and always went the A7, going for the extra coin to get it. Haven't looked back once since I made the decision.
