Thoughts on painted calipers?

Really.... I can't stop looking at that photo. It just gets better the more details that you notice.... like the red smears on the frame.... and the studs being removed so the threads would stay clean... its just priceless.

Thanks for all the thoughts. I'm now thinking either black or maybe a brownish color to match the interior if I can find the right color. More thinking required indeed. In my area it seems like the average cost to get them professionally done is about $100/wheel. Thoughts?

Get K2 brand caliper paint from ebay (comes with brake degreaser as well) about $35.00 and works great. I have done it on many Porsches over the years, doesn't peel and can be cleaned with the harshest of wheel cleaners with no adverse effects. It'll be an afternoon of two wheels off at a time.
Its a two part caliper high heat paint..cures in about 45 min. The can of caliper paint is enough for 4 wheels and your working time before the can of paint turns into a rock is about 4-6 hours.

I did my own. I bought black caliper paint on ebay for around 30.00. It included the cleaner, paint and hardener. I put on 3 coats on each of the calipers. I think it was a about 8 ounces. I also picked up some red decals as well. The ones I bought (from some place in England) had various sizes in the package so I put the larger one on the front and smaller on the rear. It's not too hard but it takes up the day. After 6 months they still look good.
