Vibration when breaking
hi all. I love my new 2018 A7, but the breaking seems a bit strange. When i break a bit heavy, sometimes there seems to be a staggered vibration, almost like I am driving over bumps in the road. Seems to come from the front end. The breaking works fine, just seems a bit strange. I am wondering of this is normal. I also expected the breaks to be firmer but theyre a bit soft- although I have read that this is typical of an Audi.

You have some brake pad deposit on the rotors resulting in what we call Disc Variance Thickness resulting in vibration and not smooth braking. Also you can get poor braking distance. If its a new car, then they will replace the brake rotors free of charge up to 12k miles. Go to dealership. Its not normal. I had this issue 3x on my 2016 A7 and I dumped the OEM rotors and got stoptech rotors and no problems. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. Also wondering if soft brakes are normal for this car. Mine do feel a bit soft but not sure if thats indicitive of Audis - since they do seem to work fine.
