I really love everything about my A7, the only complaint is the windshield.
I have heard this is made of recycled glass or something of the sort, but it seems low grade. It scratched the first day I received the car and have a few hair line scratches since, as well as it seems to always fog up on hot nights. Reflections and blemishes seem really bad while driving into the sun as well.
I had the same issue about 3 months ago. My dealer says all new automobiles are made w/ a softer glass, which is subject to pitting and nicking vs. cracking... I did some research on other forums (BMW, Merc, Acura, etc.) and everyone is having the same issue. It is awful given the right sun angle--Other than replacing it, there aren't any fixes that I'm aware of.
Not only that but does anyone else notice that it seems to let in a LOT of heat from the sun, like it's not UV coated or something? I'm not talking about a hot car that's been out in the sun a while, I'm talking while I'm driving and the sun is just beating on my chest.

Definitely noticed this, as much from the side windows as windshield, which is why I'm thinking about ceramic film for the windows. I assume that's not an option for the windshield? Chime in if anyone knows.

I have the ceramic tint on the side glass and it definitely makes a difference. As far as I know, you can't get it on the windshield except for a top strip like they used to do in the 70's and 80's.

Anyhow...you can definitely get clear ceramic tint on the full front windshield. I just had it done a couple of weekends ago, and it does make a difference. It also makes sense, because why would you put ceramic on every other window and leave the second largest piece of glass wide open to the radiant heat? Here in Florida, every little bit counts.
