Car and Driver Comparo - A7 vs. CLS
Received Car and Driver yesterday and they did a comparison of the new A7 vs. the new CLS450. Sorry, but didn't see the article online so no hyperlink to provide.
In short the A7 won the test with a score of 213 vs. the CLS's score of 192. C&D was complimentary of the CLS's interior and seats, but faulted it for ride quality and lazy transmission. For the A7 they loved the styling (more than the CLS), the ride, tech and the overall feel of the car. Additionally as tested the CLS was priced $10K higher,
In paper both cars had the same 0-60, braking distance and skidpad g's. For 0-60 the A7 and CLS both tested at 4.4 seconds which I found surprisingly quick.
One line I found entertaining was this "Relative to the Jell-O-mold styling of the CLS, this second generation A7 is sharper and more aggressive, yet somehow less self-consciously sporty looking. It has a faceted muscularity that the CLS lacks and that the first A7 didn't have... The first A7 was sensuous. This one is fit"
Overall good to hear.
