Stalling when stopping

Stalling when stopping
I just got a 2019 Audi Q7. Every time I stop at a stop sign or stop light, the motor turns off then cranks back up when I hit the gas. My wife says it's supposed to do this for some reason. It makes it unbelievably jerky when stopping and starting. Is there a way to turn this off this "feature"?

I can't see how it saves fuel. Actually the opposite. It turns off for less than 1 second at a stop sign, then revs up higher when restarting the engine.
I turned off the "A" button in the circle on the dash which seems to stop it, but it resets every time you turn off the engine. Anyone know what this feature is called so I can look it up in the manual? I don't see anything in the engine section about this.
