Default Start/Stop Hesitation & Issue

Bought my A7 in late January and have noticed that when the start/stop is engaged within the first 10 minutes or so of starting the car in the morning, it struggles to restart when I take my foot off the brake. One time the car actually stalled and I had to put it back in park and restart it. Has anyone else experienced this? Once the car is fully warmed up, it doesn't seem to be an issue any longer. Thanks

Oddly enough just had it happen this morning for the first time. Had the car for about 3 months. It acted like the car couldn't get the fuel. After that one time, it was fine the rest of the way into work. Definitely going to keep an eye on it.

My wife had the car stall on her once while in stop-n-go traffic and the start/stop on. No other issues, but now when in stop-n-go we deactivate the start/stop. Besides.... it can’t be good on the car to restart 4-5 times per minute while inching along on traffic.

Just had the car stall again. I’m going to talk to the dealer and see what they want me to do.

I had the same issue! I think it's when you try to press the gas too soon (like a non mild hybrid car).

Solution is to get the engine to kick back in and then press the gas. Or disable start stop.

I drove a new 2020 A7 Premium Plus with sports package loaner and found it responsive compared to the 2019 and no auto stop/start was activated. Also the pedal assistance feature for efficiency was turned off. It felt really good close to my 2016 A7,

There was a class action lawsuit that was recently dismissed in Virginia about this. See Audi Class Action Lawsuit Dismissed | CarComplaints.com If you have particular problems with ES/S, I would raise them w/ dealership as a warranty item, especially if it is a failure to restart promptly.
