'04 A8L - Carpet in the Wheel Wells
I was at the dealer today getting the '03 A8L oil changed and spent a couple minutes checking out the '04 blue on blue A8L they had prepped for delivery. One thing I noticed, which was really odd, they have covered the inside of the wheel wells on the '04 with carpeting. This is the same stuff you find as a trunk liner in some Toyota's etc....
I kid you not, even the service rep. thought it was odd. You would expect to find some sort of black plastic as the wheel well liner. The service rep. agreed, this material is going to be a disaster after the first snow fall. Never mind, tar and all the other road grime that will be kicked up on it. You have to check it out when you get a chance.
It looks like it would be a great option if your car was a museum piece. It will be very interesting to see how this material stands up over time.
