1997 A-8 Pricing
I'm loooking at a 1997 A-8 with 62k miles. Pearl exterior over black interior. Drives great. Looks great except for a little scuffing on the alloys. It has cold weather package but not warm weather package.
I'm having the local dealer do the complete Audi Assurance inspection. Seller is asking $28,500. If it checks out at the dealer is this a good price?
Also, this car has fixed black radio antenna about eighteen inches long. Was a power antena standard on the '97 A-8.

No power antenna was or is available on the A8 to the best of my knowledge. The antenna is muli functional (AM/FM radio receive, 800 MHz cell phone receive/transmit) so it must be fixed. Just curious, is the dealer providing you with the Audi Assured coverage or just doing the inspection they do before they provide the coverage. The A8 is a lot of car to buy with no warranty, particulalry with that many miles.
Check with Edmunds or Kelly Blue Book web sites for valuation, and don't for get Carfax for a history.

IN COLORADO THAT CAR WOULD RETAIL IN THE LOW 30'S CERTIFIED. IT SOUND LIKE A GOOD DEAL IF THE CAR CHECKS OUT. IN COLORADO WE USE NADA BOOK. YOUR DEALERS MIGHT USE A DIFFERENT SOURCE. BUT KEEP IN MIND BOOK VALUE IS JUST A GUIDE, IF YOU LIKE THE CAR AND IT IS COMPARIBLE TO THE MARKET, BUY IT.
