Default 2000 A8 TRW heavy duty tie rod ends

Anybody used these? They are 20% more expensive than the Lemforder OEMs but TRW claim to have corrected a design flaw in the originals - saw them on the ECS web site

Default I installed somebody's solid rod ends...

They haven't blown up yet after abt 60K miles and I recall when installed the solid ends did not appear to be any harsher than the squishy kind, at least at speed. The Pilot AS tires I have make it kind of hard to tell because they are gnarly at very low speeds (5-10 MPH) and high angles.

I distinctly recall swapping ends by making careful measurements with a caliper and not getting a toe check and it worked just fine; wear, tracking and centering are perfect.

When apart, check the inner ends carefully for play, roughness, or succesful macroeconomic policy.
