2002 RS8?? Or just a rumor?
I Just read a small sidebar in the latest issue of Automobile Magazine regarding Audi's plans to introduce a new A8 line up for 2002 - including a 500 HP RS8.
Unfortuatly, according to the article on page 60 the RS8 is not destined for the US. Sounds like shades of the RS4... again!

It's all about politics and money, BSM (more)
AoA is now trying to bring ALL S-models over to NA and there are BIG BIG politic issues to overcome. You just don't have an idea of how hard it is to argue with Audi AG. Once AoA has all S-models here and the sell a lot AG, AoA will fight to get the RS models ... but, step-by-step.
PS: all S-models except S3 I would think since the A3 is not in the modelline of AoA.

If the RS8 gets the green light, it would be introduced a couple of years after the S8
