This explains it pretty simply.
1) Your meter must have an AMPS setting rated to at least 10 Amps.
Put the meter in the circuit after the car is turned off. Make sure you don't try to start the car with the DMM in the circuit - or poof!

http://www.scienceshareware.com/images/electricity/how-to5.jpg</a

Disconnect the - pole of the battery. Put one of these between the neg cable and the battery's
neg pole. The test light will illuminate. Now start pulling the fuses one by one. When the light goes out, you found the circuit that drains the battery.

<a href="http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://images.orgill.com/200x200/3506904.jpg&imgrefurl=http://automotive.hardwarestore.com/87-543-auto-electrical-tools.aspx&usg=__DaVMNt2wsCe_9Z2bSTIfEk7nmH0=& amp;h=200&w=200&sz
