I own an '98 with 58K on the odometer, and have kept up to date with all service, according to the factory recommendations... looking at the "60k" maintenance.. aproximately $600-700US...

I plan on keeping the car for another 12-18 months.

Is it the entire maintenance worth it?

I assume that timing belt change is not included in this estimate.

I would think that you could sell your car easier down the line if you demonstrate that you have peformed all the recommended maintenance.

The service rep at Sunset advised me of this same service. I asked him what would be done, to which he first said "new spark plugs", to which I responded "done". Second thing he noted was an oil & filter change, same answer. The third item on his list were checking the brake system and flushing the fluid and replacing it, which received the same reply from me. He said that covered most of it, but then said "we change the pollen filters"....I asked how much the pollen filters were....about $65 each (the A8 requires 2).

So at $130 for pollen filters (I passed), and a bunch more for other stuff you could either do yourself, if you're so inclined, or you could pay 600 or 700 dollars for. My guess is that the price will be much higher if you need brake work.
