The top one with the circle looks like a Bi-xenon setup, which was never imported to the US on A8s

I suppose D2 never has OEM bi-xenon other like on the top photo. In the circle on the top is a galogen high beam. Xenon low beam &amp; high beam are a rectangular dark glass.

The circled lamp is a Euro-spec bi-xenon headlamp which came standard on the 6.0 A8s and was an option on the other A8s. The term bi-xenon would lead one to think that there are two xenon bulbs in that system, but such is not the case. I recently made inquiries into this matter with an Audi parts dept in Germany before buying a set from a man in Germany , should be here in a week.

The bi-xenon lights have one xenon bulb and one halogen bulb, same as the US light. On the US light the xenon is the low beam and when the highbeam is turned on the halogen bulb comes on in adition to the xenon bulb. On a bi-xenon system the xenon is the lowbeam and when the highbeam is turned on the halogen comes on just as US spec, but on highbeam the xenon bulb gets aditional voltage and becomes brighter...a bi-wattage xenon bulb.
