Default Almost Ready for Mid Ohio!

It's always nice when you get a package of new brake pads with racing compounds.....they say "racing brake pads" on them....

I bought a front set of the Ferodo's that Randy recommended, but I could not find a rear pair anywhere.

Randy was kind enough to sell me his spare set of new pads and send them along so I can put them on a week early to bed them in. Randy, got them today, thanks!

I had Pagid Orange track pads before, they were great! But with the Ferodo's, they have a similar temp/coefficient of friction compound as compared to the Pagid Black shown here.....I am very interested to see how well they stop the car....it's the black line, and the orange line was my last set of track pads....

Put the S8 sway bar on....getting the tranny fluid/filter changed next Tuesday, and will be changing the engine oil. Leaving a week from Friday for a fun filled weekend at Mid Ohio! Sweet!

Default Paul- Ultimately your braking is limited by the tire-ground interface.....

Higher friction pads will get you to your ultimate braking level with less pedal force than lower coefficient pads, but the ultimate braking power is the same. That being said, the race pads will certainly handle the heat better and provide much less fade, and the lower required pedal force may allow for better modulation and feel. Be sure to give us a full report when you get back!!

Default Bought both pairs of the Feredo DS2500's today. At Race shopper.com (1-800-733-8380)

Quiet a bit cheaper than essexparts.com. They had both pairs in stock.

Default Let us know how these feel on the street ....

compared to the OE pads. I guess I'll be there to see how they do on track :-)

BTW: Two months ago I got the impression from RaceShopper that they would no longer be carrying Ferodo and were only selling left-over inventory. I didn't ask about the DS2500, but they didn't have the DS3000 rear pad in stock and couldn't get it. I wonder if they're back in the Ferodo business ??

I will. Their call-waiting tape was filled with Ferodo promotions...
