They drove the V10 diesel Phaeton. It didn't so much clatter like a normal diesel, but had this menacing stuttering growl from the few drive-by scenes they featured. Sounded very interesting. I didn't hear it long enough to decide if it sounded sporty in the traditional sense, but it certainly wasn't objectionable.

Mercedes plans to bring back the big diesels ( as does BMW ) when the new low suphur fuel is phased in by '05 and '07 ( depending on state ). Wonder if Audi will join the fray ?
