Audi A8 insurance Claims, Why?
Check out the insurance info on the A8. Can any one offer an explanation of this data.

Aluminum body and frame
Believe I've read about high cost of repairing A8 previously. Logic I'd heard was that the body and frame being aluminium makes repair an especially involved process. Enough so that even a relatively small number of Audi dealerships would be capable of handling.

I wouldn't know about rich people....
...at least not from personal experience. Of course, if I was POOR I probably wouldn't have bought an A8L.
An elegant large 4-wheel drive sedan that gets decent gas mileage and has decent performance, outstanding feel and accoutrements. When you look at spending 60+ for a vehicle with these characteristics another grand or so for insurance is lost in the noise.

Only 5 qualified shops.
The reason for the high cost is the fact that you cannot straighten the Aluminum frame on a regular frame rack. I have heard that there are only 5 body shops in the country that are able to work on this frame.
