Battery dead, trunk lock won't open manually with key!! Please advise!!

Default Thx Gabor et al, this is certainly good to know butt I repeat especially since...
this is passenger *front*, why the #!@*! is this no longer under hood in a safer climate. Team door handle was no doubt partaking in this design me thinks.

Default It is hard to get to. The plastic cover is very fragile.
I would use the cig lighter or the + terminal under the carpet, passenger's side foot well.
